About Callum
Having picked up the double bass whilst at high school in
Scotland, I was quick to explore a wide range of styles of music. After he graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland I moved to Manchester to study on the Master of Music programme at the Royal Northern College of Music.
Whilst studying, I took a particular interest in teaching and developed a range of methodologies that I now continue to implement with my students.
I enjoy a varied career as a freelance double bassist, bass guitarist and tutor, performing as part orchestras, contemporary music ensembles, experimental groups, musical theatre bands, jazz bands and traditional music groups.
I am lucky to be able to tour across the UK, USA and EU as part of these ensembles and pass this experience on as part of my tuition.
Aside from my passion for teaching and performing live, I manage and book a variety of other artists and bands across the world.

Having studied to masters level myself, I know the value of a great teacher. I try to keep lessons fun and engaging by providing well planned and structured classes that you can see yourself grow in.
The length of lesson can be influenced by a variety of factors, but as a guide I suggest the following:
Beginner Lesson - 30mins
Intermediate Lesson - 30 to 40mins
Advanced Lesson - 1hr
