About Honor
I was born in England, grew up in New Zealand, and made the move to Sydney in 2026, a change that's given me a real appreciation for new environments and different ways of doing things. Having lived in a few different places, I've learned to adapt quickly and connect with people from all sorts of backgrounds, which carries over into how I work with students too. Outside of tutoring, I'm usually playing sports or spending time with family and friends.

My Approach to Tutoring
I believe in building genuine understanding, so my sessions focus on breaking concepts down into clear, manageable steps and connecting new material to things students already know. I also help students feel confident in exactly what markers are looking for in their exam answers, so they know how to hit the excellence points. I adapt the structure of each lesson to what the student needs, going through specific questions and concepts they need support with to maximize use of time. Depending on where the student is at, we might go over concepts already taught in class to reinforce understanding, or work ahead so that when the content is covered in class, they already have a stronger grasp of it.
Lesson Length
My typical sessions run for an hour, which gives enough time to review recent work, tackle new content, and consolidate with practice (though this can be adjusted depending on the student's needs or exam timelines).
Experience
Having completed NCEA myself, I have a strong, first-hand understanding of the curriculum, assessment structure, and the specific challenges students face at each level. I'm comfortable teaching NCEA students directly, and I can also support younger students working toward that level or towards an Australian qualification, helping build the foundational skills they'll need. All the resources I use during my lessons are up to date with the changes made to the NCEA system.
Who My Lessons Are For
I tutor students ranging from younger, pre-NCEA levels through to NCEA students and those completing an Australian qualification, tailoring each lesson to the individual's year level, subject, and goals; whether that's catching up on fundamentals, working toward a specific grade, or preparing for exams.
