About Margie
I have been drawing non-stop since I could hold a crayon. I have a Bachelor's degree in Art. My favorite teacher was a lady who taught me privately after college. She taught me the fundamentals of all significant art. She had studied under a master painter, and taught me what she had learned. She was a master, herself, who gave me the confidence and encouragement to become an art teacher, myself. I'll never forget her. I use her techniques and theories to this day.

In my class we draw from references. We look at a photo, or one of my drawings, and with a camera over my shoulder I teach you to draw line by line, shape by shape, little by little. You follow along with me, until the basic drawing is completed. You draw "what you see", not "what you think is there". The style of art we choose together will determine the medium we select. I use colored pencil, Sharpie, oil pastels, chalk pastels or watercolors. This class is for any ability level. I will adapt my instruction to your level of training. I won't go too fast, nor will I move too slowly. If you've ever wanted to draw really well, you've come to the right place. I've taught thousands of kids to make beautiful art. I can draw anything, and I'll teach you to be able to do the same.

You will NOT find a more experienced and knowledgeable art teacher than Margie. Our daughter has been learning from Margie for many years now and our daughter started out knowing nothing and is now becoming an artist with her own style and perspective on multiple mediums. Margie teaches the core foundation skills necessary to allow the student to have their own voice in the art world. Margie does not produce "cookie cutter" students. With an incredible set of foundation skills any student will become a unique artist allowed to explore their own path with genuine encouragement and support from Margie.
