About Chris
I'm the drummer/writer/singer for UK rock/metal band Zedi Forder. I've written, drummed & sung on multiple releases from albums to EPs and built up a strong discography and oodles of practical experience live and in the studio.

Ever since I was a kid, I have always wanted to play the drums, but life took over as well as a manic international career. But on retirement, I wondered if I could still learn to play drums instead of bashing the steering wheel of the car to the drum beats of music and scaring my wife that I would trigger the airbag! I started my lessons with Chris and have never looked back. I bought a drum kit and Chris has been teaching me ever since. Chris has the perfect temperament to be a music teacher; he is clear, patient and extremely knowledgeable and full of encouragement. No free lesson please READ in full & please read superprof T&C's and how they charge. Fun, Fitness and creativity are the core components to keeping myself motivated when it comes to the drums. So these are the things I focus on with my students.
My job is to unlock these things within you and help you develop to your fullest potential behind the kit. Nice to meet you!
I have been drumming for 25+ years alongside songwriting, singing and production. I created a book filled with great exercises called "Kerl's Drum Book", with patterns that are covered in my lessons. I'm part of UK metal/rock band Zedi Forder. Other bands include, Tricore, An Entire Legion, King Born Peasant, Kerl.
I don't focus on exams and grades (though offer path as option). I do focus on fun, fitness, motivation, band dynamics and nurturing your creativity and all at a pace you're comfortable with. I offer 55 minute lessons. Drumming is for any age, young or old and comes with a slew of health benefits. If you can swing a stick you can give drumming a bash.
I currently teach from home on an e-kit (Great one that looks like an acoustic!) mid-weeks and out of private spaces in Woking and nearby Horsell on an acoustic kit mostly at weekends (Though Horsell slots are mostly full currently). I'll happily teach you and a friend if you'd like to split the lesson!
IMPORTANT - I do not offer free lessons. Please note that the upfront fee paid during registration is solely for Superprof's platform access and does not go to the tutor. My tutoring fees are separate and will be discussed directly with you.

55 min in Horsell on acoustic kit if spaces avail - £40

Perfect! I really enjoyed my lesson with Chris. He is patient but pushes without you realising, to do more, do better. I learnt more in one lesson than I have previously in a few months. great fun!!

Cannot recommend Chris enough. My 7 year old son is under ADHD review and struggles in school. Chris’ lessons really give him such a boost. Chris is an excellent teacher! His personalised training program (with supporting training book) is a fantastic way to learn the drums. Chris is patient, encouraging and will help anyone of any age achieve their drumming goals. You will need no special equipment - everything you need is provided.
