About Mike
Like I already mentioned, a student's first lesson is free. I have my own studio where I give lessons. All ages welcomed, but I do specialize in the age range of 3 to 12. I prefer to teach drums and piano in tandem, but take a student-centered approach.

First lesson is free. Specializing in the 3 to 12 age old range, but open to students of all ages & stages. Over 40 years of piano and drum playing -- Drums are the focus, as they always should be, but I implement a system of learning drums and piano simultaneously. Many of the tenets I use I learned studying under the great Kenwood Dennard.
I am student-centered in approach. I have studied music since I was 7 years old, starting on the piano, drums since age 12. I studied music theory and voice at The New School For Social Research. I have a dual masters degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education...The teaching strategies I studied and put into practice with the younger population in which I specialize with now, I also implement with young adults and adults; child is father of the man. I believe strongly in the concept of neuroplasticity, and that it is never too late, or most definitely early, to learn to play any instrument.
