About Gary
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have played professionally for bands and artists on Polydor, ZTT and Warner Bros as well as carried out residencies and one-off shows in various countries for hotels such as The Sheraton in Dubai, The Savoy in London, The Grand in Brighton and the Metropole Group. In addition, I have done headline gigs in various major London venues such as The Hippodrome, The Empire, Cafe De Paris, Heaven, Madame Jo Jo's, Subterranea, The Marquee, The Rock Garden, Le Beat Route and The Forum as well as major University venues. I have also played 2 summer seasons for the Ladbrokes Group in a 7-piece pop function band with cabaret-backing each evening.

Joel Rothman in London. Joel is the author of over 100 drum kit tuition books and a highly established player and tutor in London and America.
- Tell me about some of your current students.
My current students range from 5 to 40 years of age and have a mixture of ability and interests right throughout the grades. Some students prefer to play for fun and general development as opposed to going through the grading structure, therefore I adapt my lessons accordingly to suit their interests and aspirations.

- How much do you charge?
£24 for 1 hour
£17 for 40 mins
£13 for 30 mins
An additional £7 - £10 is charged if tuition is required at the student's home depending on distance (up to 6 miles). Further distances will be charged at an agreed rate.
The first 30 minutes of the first lesson is free of charge and an incentive of one free lesson for each succesful referral will be given.
- Where do you teach?
I teach at home in the Bear Flat district of Bath. Bath Spa train station and the main bus station are 15 minutes walk from my address.
I am willing to travel up to 6 miles from my home address to teach at a student's home at the rates specified above. A further distance can be accommodated at an agreed rate.

10am - 1pm Sat

Trinity Guildhall and Rockschool Grades 1 - 8
I currently have students ranging from 5 - 40 years of age
- Do you have a personal message for students?
For those students wishing to go through the grading system either with Trinity Guildhall or Rockschool (or both!), I have a large portfolio of successful exam passes available to view with 88% of students achieving an Honours or High Honours/Distinction grade right up to Grade 8. I have had zero failures! I therefore ensure that thorough preparation is carried out for each student before submitting them for an exam.
In addition, my varied playing career means I am able to adapt to, and teach most styles of music on both electronic and acoustic drums using click tracks as an important part of the learning process.
