About Bryn
I hold a PhD in Music Performance and have 11 years of experience teaching guitar at various skill levels. My academic journey included advanced research in performance technique, musical interpretation, and educational methods. These studies strengthened my understanding of both technical mastery and artistic expression. Throughout my career, I have supported students preparing for concerts, examinations, and professional development.
My teaching philosophy emphasizes structure, discipline, and creative exploration. I believe consistent practice combined with clear instruction leads to long-term success. Many students appreciate my detailed demonstrations and organized lesson plans. I adapt teaching strategies based on each learner’s strengths and challenges. Encouraging independence and confidence remains central to my approach.

My guitar lessons are structured to strengthen technical accuracy while encouraging expressive creativity. We begin with posture correction and relaxed hand positioning to prevent tension and improve endurance. I guide students through scale exercises and chord transitions to build finger independence and clarity. Rhythm training includes metronome practice and structured counting drills to develop steady timing. Early repertoire is selected carefully to match skill level and promote confidence. As students advance, we explore advanced techniques such as dynamic control, articulation variation, and expressive phrasing. Song structure analysis helps learners understand harmony and melodic development. Improvisation exercises are introduced gradually to encourage creativity and listening skills. Performance preparation includes full-piece practice sessions to improve concentration and stage confidence. Clear and detailed home practice guidance ensures steady improvement between lessons.
My goal is to guide students toward becoming disciplined and expressive guitarists. I provide balanced feedback that encourages motivation and consistent growth.
