About Toro
I am an experienced early years practitioner who is highly passionate about changing the phase of education in my country and the world at large. Studying early childhood education opened me up to a new perspective which further increased my enthusiasm for teaching children. I have been exposed to the philosophy and psychology of learning in its many forms, to curriculum development, training in Montessori, early literacy and numeracy development, play-based learning, first aid, and the use of various teaching strategies and learning styles. I have good communication skills and the ability to relate well to children and adults of disparate cultural backgrounds. Furthermore, the PGCEI programmed has expanded my understanding of Curricula around the world. I have developed more skills in approaching teaching from a constructivist viewpoint; enabling my pupils to enjoy learning through discovery. Reshaping existing knowledge by encouraging them to try new ideas and flexibly observing the patterns of information through collaborative learning.
