About Daniel
I am passionate about helping students build confidence in their abilities and develop a clear understanding of the subjects they are studying. I take a structured but flexible approach to tutoring, adapting each lesson to suit the student’s level, goals and learning style. My focus is on breaking down complex topics into manageable steps, using clear explanations and practical examples to make concepts easier to grasp. I also place strong emphasis on exam technique, as this often makes a significant difference to results. A typical lesson lasts around 60 minutes and will usually include a mix of teaching key concepts, guided practice, and exam-style questions, followed by feedback to highlight strengths and areas for improvement.
I hold a Master’s in Economic Development and Policy Analysis, as well as a degree in Economics from the University of Nottingham. Alongside my academic background, I have tutoring experience supporting IGCSE students in Economics and Business Studies, helping them improve their grades through targeted guidance and practice. I have also worked as a Junior Economist, where I developed the ability to explain complex ideas clearly to non-technical audiences.
My lessons are aimed at GCSE and A level students, and I also support learners in Maths, English and French.

I focus on helping students actually understand the subject rather than just memorising content. My approach is to break topics down into simple, clear steps and explain them using real examples where possible. I usually start by identifying areas the student finds difficult, then structure lessons around those gaps. A typical session includes going through key concepts, working through examples together, and then practising exam-style questions to build confidence and improve exam technique. I also spend time reviewing mistakes so students understand how to improve and avoid losing marks.
Lessons are usually around 60 minutes, although this can be adjusted depending on the student’s needs and workload. I try to keep sessions interactive and relaxed so students feel comfortable asking questions and engaging with the material.
I have a Master’s in Economic Development and Policy Analysis and a degree in Economics from the University of Nottingham. I have tutoring experience with IGCSE students in Business and Economics, helping them improve their grades from lower levels to A*/B range, and I also have professional experience as a Junior Economist, where I regularly explained complex economic ideas in a clear and accessible way.
I mainly teach GCSE and A level students in Economics and Business Studies, and can also support GCSE Maths, English, and French learners.
