Stepan has helped my dyslexic son enormously with his English at school. Since having Stepan as a tutor my son’s self esteem has soared and his school work has massively improved, not just in English but with all subjects that involve more writing. Stepan tutored our daughter for 11 plus entrance exams for independent day schools in Cambridge in January 25. Our daughter found him very clear, calm and friendly and enjoyed his lessons. She made great strides with him in both Maths and English and secured places at both schools to which she applied. We would recommend him to anyone looking for an 11 plus tutor in the Cambridge area.

Was struggling a lot in Politics A Level and was constantly getting D’s and lower in essays and mock papers. Stepan started tutoring me in January, when my exam was in May and helped make the content so much clearer and easier to understand and taught me how to write a clear and concise essay. Before, I would only be able to finish half the paper in the allotted time but within a couple months I was able to finish the whole paper with extra time to proof read.

Every lesson with Stepan is an adventure full of knowledge and fun. Stepan is highly professional: always comes to lessons prepared and adjusts the materials to the needs of my son who has some learning difficulties. I was truly impressed by Stepan's ability to keep my son's attention even during online lessons that were always challenging for him. Stepan specifically helped my son with standardised English comprehension and writing tests (KS3 level and above). They worked on developing ideas; formulating arguments, and structuring the writing pieces. All work was done in systematic and professional manner..

Stepan provided English tutoring for my twin sons for just over a term ahead of their 13+ entrance exams. He was an excellent tutor.
He gave the boys very clear guidance on how to improve their work, whilst remaining positive and encouraging throughout. He came up with useful tools and techniques to help in the exams. He was also very knowledgeable on the type and format of the exams set by different schools. He was very pleasant to deal with throughout and always punctual.
Overall he made a huge difference, not only to the standards of my sons' work, but also to their confidence and he made the whole entrance exam process much less stressful for me!

We approached Stepan to help our daughter prepare for her 11+ exams at two of the most competitive independent schools in Cambridge. He was brilliant from the start. He was friendly, encouraging and professional. He picked up on our daughter's weaknesses (comprehension in particular) straight away and set her homework every week to address those weaknesses. He gave very thorough feedback on each piece of work our daughter did and we were incredibly impressed by how quickly our girl had improved.

The lockdown has caused school assessment formats to change several times within a couple of weeks and Stepan was quick and very happy to adjust lesson plans to help our daughter adapt to those new formats. Stepan also gave us lots of useful tips to manage her preparation for the assessments.

We would wholeheartedly recommend Stepan and we will definitely be back requesting for his help when it is our son's turn to do the 11+.

Stepan always explained topics very clearly, always providing a visual guide, writing notes and reminders on an online whiteboard, which I kept and reviewed. Apart from helping me learn content, Stepan provided detailed feedback on practice exam questions which was very consistent with the exam board’s mark scheme. Furthermore, Stepan also had very deep knowledge of the historical periods I was studying. Overall he provided everything one would look for in a teacher - thank you Stepan!

Stepan has been an incredible art tutor for my daughter. She is doing art IGCSE and has had a teacher who was not sufficiently supportive and misguiding her. Stepan's expertise in the subject and knowledge was really appreciated at this time. He was able to direct and guide Ava and she trusted his opinion. He was always available when needed. I think without him my daughter's experience of art would have been very frustrating and joyless. She has rediscovered her talent for it and this was due to Stepan's insightfulness.

Stepan taught me GCSE geography, history and travel & tourism as sole teacher. He is a very knowledgeable tutor and gave me great understanding of the subjects. He also gave me a lot of confidence, especially in the run up to the exams when I started to worry that I was not going to do too well, and as a result of various revision strategies it turned out better than expected!

Stepan was my student in his first and second year at UCL, attending the courses ‘Introduction to Politics’ and ‘Politics and Society in Central and Eastern Europe’. Throughout this time, I found him to be a very hard-working student who actively participated in class discussions and submitted excellent coursework. Moreover, he displayed very good analytical and critical thinking skills in his formative assessments. In fact, he was the only one in his year to receive a ‘First’ in the BA Politics and East European Studies. Stepan was very polite, always punctual and never missed a tutorial without a valid reason. He also took great care of encouraging other students to voice their opinions and helped them understand complex ideas in team-working exercises. Overall, I can highly recommend him for a position as a tutor.

Stepan has been teaching me Russian for the last three years. He is an intelligent and creative teacher. He particularly excels in his ability to explain things clearly and patiently bring his students up to their desired level. He's reliable and organised, and I would extremely recommend him.
