About Christina
I am an experienced Humanities teacher and current Head of Humanities with a strong passion for helping students grow in confidence and achieve their academic goals. I have experience teaching History, Religious Education, Civics and Citizenship, Sociology and Humanities across KS3, GCSE and A-Level, and I understand the importance of adapting lessons to suit each student’s individual needs and learning style.
My lessons are supportive, engaging and structured, with a strong focus on building subject knowledge, analytical thinking and exam technique. I aim to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, developing confidence and challenging themselves academically.
Alongside my classroom teaching experience, I have supported students with GCSE revision, coursework and exam preparation, while also mentoring trainee and early career teachers. I am confident using online learning platforms and educational technology to deliver effective and interactive remote lessons.
I pride myself on being approachable, professional and committed to helping every student make meaningful progress, whether they are looking to strengthen their understanding, improve grades or reach top-level achievement.

My approach to tutoring is focused on creating supportive, engaging and structured lessons that help students build confidence and make strong academic progress. I tailor lessons to individual learning styles and goals while maintaining high expectations and encouragement throughout.
My teaching style combines clear explanations, discussion, questioning, retrieval practice and exam-focused activities. I use modelling and guided practice to help students understand challenging concepts before encouraging independent thinking. I also focus on developing subject vocabulary, analytical skills and exam technique, particularly within Humanities subjects.
Lessons are typically 40-50 minutes long, though timings can be adapted to suit the student’s needs. Sessions usually include a recap of previous learning, focused teaching (based on students specific needs), practice activities and feedback to support progress and confidence.
I am an experienced teacher and current Head of Humanities with experience teaching History, Religious Education, Civics and Citizenship, Sociology and Humanities across Key Stages 3–5. I have supported students with GCSE preparation, revision strategies and exam skills, alongside mentoring trainee and early career teachers.
My lessons are mainly for students aged 11–18 studying KS3, GCSE or A-Level Humanities subjects, whether they need support building confidence or achieving higher grades.
I can also offer essay writing support, specifically in APA 7.
