About Yahya
With over 8 years of experience and more than 150 students taught, I’ve learned that tutoring Spanish isn’t just about helping students pass their classes—it’s about building confidence and curiosity. I work with high school and college students who often come in thinking they’re “bad at languages” or that they’ll never be able to speak fluently. But Spanish isn’t about perfection—it’s about communication. My tutoring approach balances structure with spontaneity. We review grammar, of course, but we also practice conversation, listen to Spanish music, watch short videos, and do quick writing exercises to build fluency in a way that feels natural. I also emphasize pronunciation and listening skills, so students start to hear how the language works, not just see it on the page. One of my proudest moments was when a student who’d been terrified to speak in class gave a two-minute speech entirely in Spanish—and afterward said it actually felt “fun.” That’s what I want for every learner. I’m not just here to teach; I’m here to support, encourage, and help you turn Spanish from something you “have to do” into something you want to use in your life.
