My lessons are personalised, adapted for every person/group. Student centred, mainly focused on communication skills, but always adapted to the student's needs, interests and aims.
I tailor lesson plans and learning plans according to every student's special needs and goals so that you can have a more personalized learning experience. Language learning and teaching are both great passions of mine. I speak 8 languages (6 at a professional level) and teach 3 of them. I teach with a lot of enthusiasm, patience and with an overall positive approach.
I base my classes depending on your needs, i.e. the areas you need to improve (speaking, grammar, reading, listening, etc.) GCSE exams, DELE, etc. The whole structure is negotiable and will be discussed and tailored to you during the first lesson.
According to academic research, linguists have demonstrated that there is not one single best method for everyone in all contexts, and that no one teaching method is inherently superior to the others. However, I prefer Direct Method (also called Natural Method).
A language should be fun, interesting and enjoyable. For this reason, I try to make each lesson understandable, easy to digest and fun. I place a big emphasis on speaking as I felt that at school, I learned how to read and write but didn't ever practise speaking or listening.
I am a Cambridge University graduate and a fully-qualified teacher. I have previously taught in both Secondary and Primary schools as well as private Language Schools. I plan effective and engaging lessons that are tailor-made to meet the needs of my students. I also have a large bank of my own tried and tested lesson resources which I enjoy devising in my free time.
I offer simple, tailored, engaging and effective individualized lessons that will help build your confidence and learn Spanish once and for all! My interactive approach focuses on supporting the student to become fluent in Spanish through the combination of grammar and vocabulary with spontaneity.
My teaching method is communicative. I focus on different skills (active and passive) in the context of real-life situations and students´ interests. I offer a friendly and enthusiastic approach.
I teach language lessons to students aged 11 and up. I provide extra support for those studying towards a teaching qualification such as GCSE or A level. The lessons are also for adult learners who want to develop their own language skills either in preparation for a holiday in a Spanish speaking country or for work purposes. My approach involves structured learning in its simplest form.
- If I had to choose one particular method, I could not choose any. My goal is to choose the methods that best fit to my students, not to force my students to adhere to any limiting methodology. - Personally, I really enjoy to teach languages through the music, it is a useful tool for language learning. Language and music are kindred spirits.
I am able to provide Spanish lessons for children to give them the level required by their school or to prepare them for their future examinations (e.g. oral exam in Spanish language of the ENA, of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development, etc.). I also offer an interpretation, translation and proofread/text correction service.
My teaching method is mainly based on the communicative approach mixed with active learning, by building the student self-confidence and raise the interest in the cultural aspects. I believe all learners can speak a foreign language by being consistent and enthusiast.
I hold the Certificate in Spanish Language Teaching to Adults GCSLTA by Instituto Cervantes in London, the official Spanish Language and Cultural centre. I am graduated in Tourism by Deusto University in Spain. Languages go hand in hand with the culture of the place. Learning is a beautiful concept as everyone is unique in their own way.
You've probably tasted tapas and heard some flamenco, but sure you like to know more about our culture. Anyway I can adapt the lessons to your interests in the basic level up to the intermediate level (A1-B2). I like to organize the one-hour classes divided as follows: 25 minutes for grammar and answer questions, 15 minutes of vocabulary and 20 minutes of conversation.
I try to addapt every single lesson to my students' needs and interestings, preparing a variety of materials and activities (including games, songs...). I try to make my lessons as enjoyable as possible so that my studnets could get into language learning and feel comfortable and confident on it.
I bring a fresh, professional, honest and respectful approach to teaching, encouraging individuals to fulfil their learning goals and maximise their potential while they feel at ease. I easily empathy with my learners, classes are lively and communicative based on learner's interests.
My method is student centered with ongoing assesment throughout formal and informal ways of participation. However, I am flexible about the teaching methodology. It mainly depends on the subject matter, the learner's characteristics and the context in which the teaching is performed (face-to-face, individual, groups, online, etc).
My name is Elena and I am a Spanish Teacher from Spain. I hold a Postgraduate’s course in Education and a Master’s Degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language.
I have recently graduated with a degree in Spanish (2:1) and I am available to tutor Spanish learners at primary school level, GSCE and A-Level. I prefer to teach in a more active and fun way, utilising games and activities to enhance learning.
With almost 20 years experience into teaching,I learnt to focus on my students, bring nice materials to the classroom and tailor made the lessons. Each student is different and I do my best to achieve their goals depending how you are.
I was a Spanish teacher in the French International School in Dubai and in Hong Kong for 5ème, 4ème, 3ème and 2de.(Years 6 to 10 in UK) Also I worked for Berlitz Language Institute in Dubai teaching children and adults so I use mainly their method which is speaking first and then we deal with grammar.
My teaching methodology is based on providing a safe and comfortable environment for students to learn. I base my classes on communication - my students learn the language immersed in a real-life context so they can maximise their use of Spanish and their learning experience. I do this by specifically tailoring the lessons to the student's skills, knowledge level and purpose.
WHY LEARN WITH ME?: Professionalism|Flexibility|Innovation|Friendliness|Enjoyment|Progress| The main focus my Spanish lessons is to provide students with a high-quality language-learning experience to enable them to pursue their goals and aspirations in the best way possible.
This experience is what made me be able to design and offer lessons that I would like to find if I was going to be that student. You might be wondering how this looks like… Well, my motto is that learning should not be boring or repetitive. So, for my lessons I thought this should work differently.
My teaching methodology depends on the needs of the student. I am happy to work with students of all ages. I focus my lessons on meaningful communication rather than just repeating memorized phrases or words. In my opinion, listening and speaking are the two most important skills in learning a language and I like to focus on them during my lessons unless the student decides otherwise.
Grammar and vocabulary are the key, core and fundamental for language learning.
Just like when we first learn our mother tongue, I believe we can use a similar approach when it comes to learning a second or third language. The psychology behind it is the same and we achieve this by constant repetition.
My classes are interactive, fun and adapted for every need, different levels and different options to learn. Face-Face or by Skype. All ages, all levels, all goals! Useful vocabulary to travel, grammar, pronunciation, songs, exercises by email to track your progress. Practical lessons or more focused on exams preparation to get official titles.
Each class is planned in advance for me and I use different methodologies depending on the student´s learning process and their level. They would be: Activity Stacking, Role plays, Dictogloss, Interactive games and videos, Writing practice homework, etc.
First I have a conversation with the students to know where do they want to get. After that I will plan my lessons based on their goals and ability making sure my lessons are engaging and challenging at the same time.
