About Layba
I am a dedicated and patient tutor with a strong background in maths and physics, and several years of experience helping GCSE students improve their understanding and confidence.
I am committed to helping students feel comfortable and supported, and I encourage them to ask questions at any level without hesitation. My goal is to ensure each student understands topics deeply, to the point where they could confidently explain them back themselves.

I take a structured and supportive approach to tutoring, tailored to each student’s individual needs. In the first lesson, I usually begin with a short assessment or past paper questions to understand the student’s current level, strengths, and areas for improvement, as well as how they approach problem-solving.
Based on this, I plan lessons that focus on building a strong understanding of key topics. I explain concepts step by step, using clear examples, and then work through practice questions together to reinforce learning. I encourage students to ask questions and develop confidence in their abilities.
At the end of each session, I set targeted homework to consolidate what we’ve covered. I review this work in the following lesson to track progress and address any difficulties.
Lessons are typically one hour long, which I find is the ideal length to stay focused while making consistent progress.
I am currently an undergraduate in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, with a strong background in maths and physics. I also have several years of experience tutoring GCSE students, so I am familiar with the curriculum and how to support students effectively.
My lessons are suitable for students from primary level (around age 9) up to A-Level for maths, and up to GCSE level for physics.
