About Loryn
I am an elementary educator with experience supporting students in grades K-8 across subjects including reading, writing, math, and science. I am passionate about helping students build confidence, strengthen their skills, and develop a positive mindset toward learning.

My approach as a tutor is centered around creating a supportive, engaging, and personalized learning environment where students feel confident asking questions and taking ownership of their learning. My teaching methods include breaking down complex concepts into smaller, manageable steps, using real-world examples, modeling strategies, guided practice, and providing opportunities for students to explain their thinking. I focus on building both academic skills and confidence by celebrating progress while helping students identify areas for growth.
A typical lesson begins with a quick review of previous material and a discussion of the student’s goals for the session. We then move into direct instruction or skill practice, where I introduce or reinforce concepts using interactive activities, examples, and guided problem-solving. The lesson ends with independent practice, reflection, and a plan for what the student can continue working on.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my background in elementary education and classroom experience. I have experience working with students across multiple grade levels and subjects, including reading, writing, math, and science. I understand the importance of patience, encouragement, and adapting instruction so students feel successful while still being challenged.
