Alexandra has tutored my 4th grader in literacy, mainly reading, for most of the school year. We have seen considerable development in these areas. She has helped my daughter increase the speed at which she reads and decodes words, as well as her comprehension level. She is more than qualified as a tutor and brings a trove of effective teaching strategies along with her. She’s great at keeping students engaged for the full session and that’s probably why my daughter really looks forward to her weekly tutoring session!
Our son was diagnosed as dyslexic and we needed help. I came across Alexandra's information and reached out. She was immediately kind, friendly and caring. She has specific questions to get to know what my son needed and if she was the right fit.
We then partnered on a schedule for our son that worked for our busy life. Over the weeks and months that pasted, she took the time to get to know him as a person, what he liked, what he didn't like, what mattered to him, how he focused (or didn't), what made him tick and she used the information to engage him.
Alexandra made learning fun for our son in a way no other Teacher took the time to do. She got to his level and worked on building his confidence, always praising his progress and focusing on what more he could do.
Our son went from a reading level of 6 to 22 in no time at all. Alexandra invested in our son, she partnered with him and made reading fun for him. When she saw he was struggling, she shook things up and changed the landscape so he could find a way through and never gave up.
From a parent perspective, she took the time to keep updated on his progress, informed us on things we could do differently to help with our sons progress and even helped me work better with his teacher when I felt he was ready to take on more.
In summary, not only has Alexandra given our son the gift of reading, she has given him a new level of confidence in life! We are forever gratefulAlex is an amazing teaching and tutor. She helped my daughter out tremendously with her reading. She was quite far behind and she worked with Alex 3 times a week. My daughter is now at grade level and I know Alex played a huge part in that. Alex has a very unique and fun approach when teaching children. My daughter always enjoyed her time with Alex. Sessions were in person and online. I would highly recommend Alex if your child needs extra support with school work.
