I have 5 years of experience teaching reading and math in the special education setting teaching students of all abilities. I have lots of experience teaching students with large ranges of abilities. My teaching method involves traditional reading and math practice combined with online activities and interactive workspaces. A typical reading lesson will incorporate decoding words, writing phonic-specific words, reviewing sight words, and reading decodable text. Many lessons incorporate interactive work. A typical math lesson will include interactive games to develop foundational math and number sense skills. I create a tutoring environment that is welcoming to all students and addresses their individual needs. Lessons are tailored to what each student needs and will address any gaps in the student's learning. The lessons are designed for any student in grade kindergarten through 6th grade in the areas of reading, writing, and math.
