About Hugo
I am a dedicated and experienced basketball player with over 8 years of competitive experience, passionate about helping players improve their skills, confidence, and understanding of the game.
Throughout my basketball journey, I have competed at a high level, including Division 1 representative basketball on the Gold Coast and Division 1 Under-17 basketball for the Nets. I have also received three scholarship opportunities to train and develop in the United States at prestigious basketball academies, including IMG Academy Miami, Combine Academy USA, and Spire Institute USA.
My goal is to provide professional, encouraging, and high-quality basketball training tailored to each player’s individual needs. I focus on creating a positive environment where players feel motivated, supported, and confident while developing the skills required to reach their full potential.
Whether you are a beginner learning the fundamentals, a young athlete looking to make a representative team, or an advanced player wanting to improve your performance, I provide structured coaching designed to help you become a better basketball player.

My approach to basketball coaching is focused on developing each player’s individual skills, confidence, basketball IQ, and overall understanding of the game. Having played competitively for over 8 years, including Division 1 representative basketball on the Gold Coast and under-17 Division 1 for the Nets, as well as receiving scholarship opportunities from IMG Academy Miami, Combine Academy USA, and Spire Institute USA, I understand what it takes to improve and compete at a high level.
My coaching methodology focuses on building strong fundamentals first, including ball handling, shooting technique, footwork, finishing, defence, decision-making, and game awareness. I tailor every session to the player’s ability level and goals, whether they are learning the basics, trying to make a representative team, or looking to take their game to the next level.
Lessons typically run for 60 minutes and include skill development drills, game-like situations, feedback, and challenges designed to help players improve both physically and mentally. I aim to create a positive and motivating environment where players can build confidence while pushing themselves to improve.
My lessons are suitable for beginners, junior players, intermediate athletes, and advanced players looking to develop their skills. I work with players of different ages and abilities who want to improve their basketball performance, confidence, and understanding of the game.
