About Jonas

I have been studying and learning Spanish for over 10 years. Like many others, I started learning Spanish in middle school and high school, but realized that I wanted to take it a step further. In 2016, I started studying business administration in Barcelona, and lived there until 2019. During this time I got better and better at Spanish, and gradually realized that I have a great interest in both learning and teaching languages. Having made many close Spanish-speaking friends, I have gained a high level of Spanish (C1 level) as well as countless experiences.

About the lesson

Having experienced for myself how many doors a new foreign language can open, I am really passionate about teaching Spanish to those who may wish it. I believe in teaching through a mixture of examples, oral and written repetition and of course also through pugging of grammatical rules. Spanish, for example, has a slightly complicated verb inflection that many people struggle with, but the confusion around such issues can be solved by separating one problem at a time, and then putting them together in context. I wholeheartedly believe that a student needs to know why he or she is learning something to find the motivation to complete. Therefore, I like to not only put things in context, but also motivate the students to imagine what other doors Spanish can open - in addition to improving the diploma for example.

I had Norwegian lessons with Jonas in a group with 2 other British friends. First, Jonas was friendly and very easy to communicate with while discussing the lessons. Second, he was very flexible in finding a time and a type of lesson that suited us perfectly. Now all of us have B1 level and one is taking B2! Would highly recommend Jonas as a teacher.

I lived with Jonas in Barcelona and we did a language exchange. I could see that Jonas's level of Spanish was improving exponentially to the point of having advanced and fluent conversations with native speakers. He has a very good use of the language, a very broad vocabulary and the level to communicate without difficulty and he adapts easily to the different jargon thanks to the fact that he has interacted with different people from different Spanish-speaking regions.
As a native speaker, I recommend Jonas because I am aware of his knowledge and proficiency in the Spanish language.
