About Thomas

Hi, my name is Thomas Barkley. I'm a Mechatronics Student in my 2nd year of study at the University of Manchester. The part of my course that I probably do best at is mathematics. I gained an A at in A-Level Mathematics, and in my end of year exams for maths in my chosen course, I attained marks of 98% and 93%, both high firsts. I have some experience of tutoring from just after my A-Levels, where I tutored a fellow student in his chosen subject just before he went to university.

My teaching style has two aspects: the first is that I will assist students with issues they may be having with the section of their maths course that they are studying at the moment (If they covered trigonometry that week at school, for instance, I would focus on trigonometry in that session). The second aspect is that I expect students to bring me problems (such as maths questions from exam papers, or question sections from text books) that they're having issues with, and I expect them to show me what progress they've made so far.

I also plan on setting some homework for session, to be completed by the next session.
