About Rebecca
I have a PhD in Art History and am currently a Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellow at The University of St Andrews. I was formerly Curator/Assistant Keeper at The Fitzwilliam Museum, University of Cambridge. My undergraduate degree is in English (UCL, 1st class honours) and my masters in Women's Studies (Oxford, Distinction). I am an interdisciplinary scholar who can assist with academic writing and critical thinking on a broad range of humanities subjects. As an experienced curator, I can also offer careers advice and help with CVs/applications. My specialism is in 19th and 20th Century art/literature, but I'm able to assist on topics from across the history of Western European art.
My first book, This Dark Country: Women Artists, Still Life and Intimacy in the Early Twentieth Century (2021) was longlisted for the William MB Berger Prize and shortlisted for the PEN Hessell-Tiltman Prize. I also offer guidance and mentorship with creative writing.
