About Chandler
I have struggled with learning disabilities my entire life and I understand the frustration that comes with the inability to fully process instructions and the discouragement that can come with failing to meet academic expectations. When I learned that I have learning disabilities, I have since become a confident individual who thrived in college once I accepted my unique needs. I am empathetic to any student who feels frustrated and/or intimidated in school when they fail to meet the expectations of their teachers. I believe we are all unique in our learning processes and that there is no one way to learn. I would love to help students embrace their learning style even in subjects they may dislike.

I have two degrees (History and English) from Texas State University where I was a regular name on the Dean's List for the level of professionalism in my writing skills, my astute analysis of literature, and my research capabilities.
I believe that there is no one way to learn and I keep my lesson plans open for feedback from students so their work is polished but authentic to who they are. I also encourage learning organizational skills to better approach assignments. This is a skill that goes beyond academics as well.
I am interested in working primarily with middle school, high school, and college students. I am looking forward to helping students with writing essays, researching for projects, and interpreting literature.
