About Ruth
I would describe myself as *approachable, self-driven, and confident*. As an educator, I prioritize building strong relationships with my students, fostering a sense of trust and comfort that allows you to feel supported in both your academic and social lives. With a degree in English and Literature and certification in teaching English as a foreign language and International curricula, I’m excited to share my knowledge with you. I've been teaching online for three years and have 11 years of onsite experience. My passion extends beyond teaching; I love reading, critiquing literary works, and I’m currently working on several manuscripts. I've even co-authored two English books! Together, we will embark on a learning journey that not only enhances your English skills but also inspires you to appreciate literature. Let’s make this an enjoyable and fulfilling experience. My teaching approach is student-centered, which means I adapt my methods to fit the learner’s needs, pace, and learning style. I ensure my learners are active by utilizing multimodal learning approaches. I also bring practical examples to make concepts relatable. A typical lesson involves the introduction, engagement activity, the core lesson, application and reflection for about 5 minutes.
What sets me apart is my adaptability and approachability. I don’t believe in dumping knowledge on learners. I strive to spark curiosity, deep thinking and a deep love for learning to develop the skills needed for success both in academics and life in general. I create an environment where my learners can feel safe to express, make mistakes and grow their confidence. I teach learners of all levels; from early years to adults.
