About Abi
I have loved reading and writing since I was a child, and have always wanted to share this enthusiasm with others. I followed this passion to university, and graduated with a first class degree in English Literature. During A-Levels, I led a study group on Hamlet and The Great Gatsby for students in my year, and discovered a strength for teaching. Essay-writing is hard - I have had many failures, but through reflection and hard work have consistently improved. My priority is progress, rather than producing a perfect draft first time!

Using examples of your writing, I identify key objectives for our lessons and devise activities to strengthen areas of weakness such as language analysis, essay structure, and clarity of argument. I work through these activities with you, providing thorough feedback with clear explanations and constructive recommendations. Throughout, my approach is flexible and adaptable to individual needs. I am encouraging, aiming to build confidence and creativity. If agreed with you, I may set practice tasks to complete outside of our lessons. I will generally ask for your exam board or a set of class descriptors so that we can prepare for exams or assignments.
