ABOUT HALINA’S TEACHING I am a passionate non- native Online English teacher. Teaching is a big part of my life. For that understanding, I am a lifelong scholar. I believe pupils engage best with literature when they feel their ideas are valued. It is an expressive subject and I always encourage my pupils to explore the contextual influences that shaped the creation of texts as well as the texts themselves. Of course, I also offer extensive expertise in close reading which allows my pupils to flourish in exam conditions.
I am a 2nd year student at the University of York studying Philosophy, Politics and Economics offering lessons to students from primary school to GCSE level in Mathematics, English and the Sciences. Usually I will assess how they are working currently before devising a personalised study approach to help the student work smarter and not harder.
I prepare all my classes in advance and provide the extra reading material you might need. I structure the lesson off what you're required to do (for classes, exams etc) and use your own book as a starting point so that you can be confident with both the basics and extra informations to add some flare to your preparation.
My teaching method is quite hands on. I like to add a competitive but fun side to my teaching, which I find makes a student want to learn more and often this is at a faster rate. I shape my lessons differently for each child, so that the teaching type is best suited to their learning style.
In my experience every student has unique needs and I will adjust my teaching style to benifit the pupil. I provide tutoring to undergraduate level and below, as well as adult learners. As such, fees will be negotiable once learners needs have been assessed.
My teaching is very student orientated and individual; you present me with what you are struggling with and I will assist you however much you need. This is about empowering you and giving you the confidence boost you need in order to succeed.
I will start by giving you a test eg.

My approach is simple. The text needs to read and read in a way that is easy to understand and interpreted. The beauty of Literature is it can be interpreted in several ways. I will look into your interpretations and encourage you further and help you structure it.
