About Sofia
Hello, I'm Sofia. I've always been passionate about English, and though you might not be I approach every class with enthusiasm that I hope you'll enjoy it by the end of the process. If English has you feeling a bit lost, or you just need some support on top of your regular classes I'm here to help. I have experience teaching during my degree and I can work around your schedule. Extra class outside of class time is hard work, but it really pays off in the long run.
You might be thinking "I hate English. It's too hard." or, "The Christmas carol is boring", but I'm sure together we can simplify English and try to make Dickens more interesting.

Supporting educational needs can vary significantly, and often pupils just need a bit of additional support on top of their pre-existing classes. I typically formulate lesson plans for older students around the qualification they are working towards. With younger students, I try to make English fun using educational word games to develop their skills. Timings for lessons vary depending on what the student needs but typically are around 50 minutes, though shorter and longer times are available upon request. I worked for a tutoring centre during my degree and have experience teaching online since the pandemic.

I may suggest, in some instances, the purchase of a particular text for supplementary learning. For example, a modern English translation of Shakespeare if your child is struggling with Shakespeare.
