About Harriet
As an A-level English Literature student, my interest in English has continued well beyond GCSE, developing into a genuine passion for both Language and Literature.
Having recently completed my GCSEs, I have a strong understanding of what the exams require from a student’s perspective. I can use this experience to make the subject more approachable and relatable, sharing revision strategies, exam techniques, and helpful tips that made a real difference in my own studies.
My aim is to help students not only understand the content, but also feel more confident and prepared when it comes to exams, making English a more engaging and enjoyable subject to learn.

LITERATURE:
English literature comprises two main parts: 1) essay writing and 2) understanding of the text. In our sessions, I would firstly begin by supporting with key techniques, context and intentions (essentials for hitting assessment objectives) then review, work through and mark essays with the student
LANGUAGE:
The English language paper is best learnt through direct practice and marking as due to the nature of the paper there is no prior learning of quotes or context. In our language-based sessions, we would focus on creative writing, analysis of texts and working past papers and examples identifying what went well and what could be improved.
