I am passionate about literature, writing and learning. I aim to make these subjects accessible, engaging, and fun. I am new to tutoring but have previously worked as a nanny and a children's bookseller, and feel excited about the opportunity to support students during their studies.
I can tutor from GCSE through to A Level. I can also support students applying to university, or help students get a better handle on their reading or essay writing.
I am a writer and poet. Currently, I work as an Editorial Coordinator at an award-winning publishing house. I have just completed my BA in English and American Literature and will begin to study for an MA in Creative Writing this autumn.

I currently work part-time as the Editorial Coordinator at an award-winning publishing company. During my time in this role I have had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects while handling all of the company’s administrative duties. I have edited and proofread a range of fiction and non-fiction titles, including a number of experimental digital books. I also project managed a series of print books for a large commercial client. I currently oversee the creative coordination of the online literary magazine which requires me to reach out to artists, create briefs, liaise with designers and illustrators and oversee scheduling.
During my time in this role I have managed multiple projects, seeing them through from their initial concept phase to their publication. I have also been responsible for overseeing and planning book releases and client events, in the UK and abroad.
As part of my role I manage the company studio, handle royalties, bookkeeping, petty cash and invoices. I also handle the calendar for both company directors, booking talks and organising travel and accommodation as required. I act as the first point of contact for the company and manage a high volume of enquiries, ranging from customer orders, publicity and media requests and correspondence from distributors. As the first point of contact I am responsible for receiving and initially considering all project proposals and book submissions.
My role is incredibly varied and often fast-paced. We are a small team and I regularly work on projects independently, or with editors, writers and designers based in other countries. This requires me to manage a variety of tasks and schedules and work to deadlines well. I thoroughly enjoy my role and I feel proud to have worked on such a wide range of books and creative projects.
I worked as the part-time Venue Manager & Administration Assistant at a London based comedy venue and production company. I was responsible for overseeing the management of the venue’s studio and fulfilling administrative duties in the company office. I assisted with the maintenance of the studio and prepared for events and shows in the venue. I also acted as the Duty Manager, working with acts, technicians and bar staff to run shows.
This role required a great deal of administrative work, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I was responsible for the smooth operation of the company’s office and venue equipment. I supported the team with general administration and acted as reception. I assisted my General Manager with recruitment and helped proofread mail-outs and marketing material. I also managed our online store, handled purchases, stock levels and shipped customer orders. As a key holder and Venue Manager I ensured the appearance and security of the venue were kept to a high standard.
This role was demanding and fast-paced, requiring me to manage my time and stay organised effectively. I enjoyed working with a close-knit team in an administrative role, as it allowed me to use my organisation and time management skills while working in an exciting and creative environment.
While on an internship at a large publishing house, I worked closely with the web development team. I edited web content, proof-read material, tested the pre-launched website, researched trends and created new online content. The role allowed me to work as part of a team and gain worthwhile experience in a busy publishing house.
Working in a bookstore provided me with valuable customer service experience. My role required me to support customers with detailed knowledge of our books, take orders and deal with various authors and publishers. I thoroughly enjoyed this role, as it allowed me to read widely and share my enthusiasm for books with others.

I am proud to have been a member of a well-respected theatre company, taking part in a creative program that supports and nurtures writing and performance. This opportunity allowed me to perform material and engage in lively and informative weekly workshops alongside other writers and performers creating a diverse range of work.
I learned to engage critically with my work and developed the confidence to perform my writing to live audiences, showcasing my work at various theatres on numerous occasions. Taking part in this company was an incredibly rewarding and educational experience, which has helped nurture my writing.
Kirstie is knowledgeable, patient and personable. She has wonderful experience due to her background in publishing and through her education. She approaches everything with enthusiasm and care. Her kindness, knowledge and experience will make her a fantastic tutor.
