I am an English Literature student at the University of Bristol and offer private lessons to pupils at all secondary school levels. I have a genuine joy for both the improvement of less confident students and honing the techniques of those preparing for exams (GCSE, AS Level, A Level, Pre-U).
I believe in tailoring lessons to the needs of each student and can teach everything from practical advice, such as essay structure and improvement in style, to analysis of specific texts and how to tackle unseen papers.
I have been teaching several students at varying levels for the past 4 years, both formally over an extended period of time and one-off 'booster' sessions. Since I completed my own education in 2015, my pupils have particularly benefitted from my fresh understanding of secondary school teaching and personal experiences with recent exams.
I am willing to negotiate a lower rate for students from less privileged backgrounds
I am currently studying English Literature at the University of Bristol, having graduated from Westminster School (London) in 2015.
Personal successes have included several school essay awards, starting a Creative Writing magazine due to my love of editing, and having my own poems published in anthologies.
In the past year, I worked at Sotheby's London, which involved researching art and contributing to cataloguing. I also worked for 6 months for a fashion company in Customer Care, including liaising with customers and editing catalogues.
