About Harriet
I have a 2:1 degree in English literature from the University of Liverpool. I have tutored with the MyTutor online programme for 3 years, and have previously helped children with learning difficulties with reading skills. I am currently finishing a masters degree in philosophy of art and hope to venture into work with cultural institutions or cultural journalism.

When teaching I start by getting to know the student and finding out their needs in regard to the subject. I will usually talk through an exam paper or piece of text with the student and ask them to identify certain aspects that may be of interest. I then encourage them to explain why these points are interesting and help to form this into a coherent essay point. I focus on not only building skills, but in building confidence when applying those skills as I believe a lack of self belief is the biggest challenge to overcome in academic writing.
