About Noémie
My name is Noémie, I am a 21-year-old Parisian student who just obtained a Bachelor's degree in English literature. During my final exams I decided to apply for an international program to become a French assistant in Ireland. Although I am still unsure of my future, I dream of becoming a translator. The truth is I would love to be paid to read books. On top of that, I really enjoyed translation at university. It felt like a game, searching the perfect word, knowing there’s always one waiting to be found. But being a good translator requires excellence, which is why it was essential for me to live in an English-speaking country. Even better if the accent is as strong as the Irish one! The goal is to further immerse myself in the language and understand cultural references from locals, rather than just from theoretical textbooks. I’m really enjoying my time in Ireland, and to be honest, I like my job so much that it’s making me rethink my career plans. Maybe being a teacher isn’t so bad. I’m eager to gain further teaching experience, and I approach each class with professionalism and care, adapting my methods to suit every student’s needs. The extra income will also allow me to visit my family in France this year.

Having worked as an English tutor in Paris, my first step is always to assess your current level: how long you’ve been studying French, how much vocabulary you know, and which verb tenses you can use, among other things. From there, depending on your goals, we can focus on conversation practice, review missing vocabulary and grammar, create tailored exercises, and go over them again to make sure everything sticks. As I’m currently working as a French language assistant in a school, I have access to plenty of resources, textbooks, and engaging topics we can choose from together. If you’re a student, I can easily adapt to your level, as I work with every class from first to sixth year. Since French is my native language, I can help you sound more natural with pronunciation tips. And if you’re curious about French culture and want to combine language learning with cultural discovery, you’re in the right place! It’s really up to you — whether you prefer interactive lessons, listening practice where I simply read aloud in French, or a more structured approach. I’ll adapt to your pace and preferences.
