About Alec
As an English Teacher for every grade (except 8th) from 6th-12th, I have an array of different knowledge on all things English Literature and Composition (writing)! With the plethora of skills in the realm of English, I enjoy getting to personalize student learning to the skills that they want to focus on. I cannot wait to work with you to achieve a better grasp on analyzing the world around you and communicate effectively to get what you want out of life!

I teach English to help students understand the value and power of their voice and how to properly utilize it to communicate thoughts and ideas to cause positive change. My teaching will guide students in analyzing the world around them to discover deeper meanings and connections in all realms of life. By modeling how to ask probing and complex questions, students will learn to become critical thinkers who keep questioning everything, even their perceived truths, as they consume the plethora of messages spoken by the world around them. Through this, students become curious, free, creative, individual, and intellectual thinkers as they learn about themselves, the world, and the human condition through the meaning of stories and experiences expressed by a diverse array of voices in literature. My goal is to create well-rounded students who can succeed in all aspects of life. In their studies, I will set high, yet realistic, expectations for my students. Similarly, I hold myself to high expectations of continuing to pursue my education by keeping an open mind to learn from my students and their experience, asking for and listening to their feedback, as well as reflecting upon the instruction and methods utilized to continuously improve the class to fit the diverse and changing student body.
