About Monica
Hello there! I'm Monica, and I'm thrilled to share a bit about myself. With over twenty years of experience as a language teacher, I’ve dedicated my career to helping students unlock the beauty of language. Originally from Uruguay, South America, I’m proud to be bilingual in English and Spanish, which adds an exciting layer to my teaching. I hold Cambridge certificates and graduated as an ESL teacher in Uruguay, equipping me with the skills to connect with learners of all ages and backgrounds. My method focuses on real-life conversations, personalized lessons, and a balance between grammar, vocabulary, and cultural insights. I adapt my teaching style to each student's needs, whether they prefer structured lessons or a more casual, immersive approach.
A typical lesson would include a warm-up review, new concepts, practice and interaction, and homework: cultural insights, and a Q&A.
From a fluent speaker's perspective, I bring authentic pronunciation and cultural understanding. I adjust lessons to the student's goals, whether school support, exam prep, or conversational skills. I create a comfortable space where students feel encouraged to practice without fear of mistakes.
My lessons are for students who need English tutoring, beginners who want to learn from scratch, and anyone looking to build confidence in the language.
