My approach to tutoring is supportive and tailored to each individual’s learning style. I aim to build confidence while strengthening key skills in English, whether that’s reading comprehension, creative writing, or exam technique. I break down complex ideas into simple, manageable steps and use structured guidance alongside practice questions to help students fully understand each topic.
My teaching methodology combines clear explanations, interactive activities, and regular practice. I usually start lessons with a quick review of previous work, then introduce new concepts with examples before guiding the student through exercises. I also use exam-style questions and provide detailed feedback to help students improve quickly and effectively. Having previously tutored primary school Maths, English, and 11+ preparation, I am experienced in adapting my teaching to suit different ages and abilities, keeping lessons engaging and easy to follow.
A typical lesson lasts around 60 minutes, allowing enough time to cover material in depth while maintaining focus. I can adjust lesson length if needed to suit the student.
As a tutor, I bring a strong academic background with a Grade A in GCSE English, and also a University student. With my previous tutoring experience in primary subjects and 11+ exams, I understand how to support students in building both their skills and confidence in a structured and encouraging way.
