About Ellie-Mae
My name is Ellie and I am an undergraduate studying English at the University of Cambridge! I have been extremely passionate about studying English since I was exposed to texts I had never thought about reading before in my GCSEs. From then, my love of reading and close analysis has grown.
Primarily, I am interested in the Renaissance period, as well as the Modernist period. I have particular strengths in dealing with unseen poems and prose, and tackling the challenges and questions that may arise with such texts.
I have a passion for helping people, and there is nothing that satisfies me more than seeing fellow students succeed, and I would love to be a part of that success!
My favourite book is 'Never Let Me Go', by Kazuo Ishiguro, and my favourite poet is Sylvia Plath or Adrienne Rich.

My lessons are primarily focused at those students undertaking GCSEs and A-Levels. I have exposure to an array of both GCSE and A-Level texts, as well as unseen prose/poetry which occurs at both levels.
My lesson content would vary depending on what section the student desires to be taught on. For example, if they are uncertain with a set text, the lesson may include a focus on key themes of the text; quotes which are central to the plot; and planning essays using previous past paper questions.
There is flexibility to my lessons: whether that be in the content covered or the length of the lesson itself, the student has some autonomy!
As for my experience, I have tutored for three years. I mentored in my sixth form, and I progressed onto tutoring at university for those completing A-Levels.
