An enthusiastic and friendly maths tutor - Maths tutor with Devon

I have known Devon for the past decade now: originally as a students at the same university, Devon – already in Honours at the time – informally helped me both academically and personally in his role as Senior Student in John Burnet Hall. This help was freely given, with respect and consideration so that I was able to better settle into the rigours of university life that I was previously unprepared for.
Subsequently, Devon and I have been colleagues and friends for the intervening years, over which I have seen him help many others to succeed and progress where they had previously met an impasse. This ranges from peer mentoring at Harriet Watt, to his work with schools in his current professional capacity.
Devon is an approachable teacher who people want to work for; his persona is one of constant encouragement and praise. I would have no reservations in recommending anyone to his tutelage.

I came to know Devon from our time as Actuarial Masters students. As the workload was extremely tough, we found it necessary to split the workload - each of us would work on a section of the course, and then explain it to other group members. Devon is highly capable of understanding complex mathematical topics and explaining them at the student's level.
