From my own experience throughout education, I know that text-based subjects are brought to life most vividly through non-patronising classroom activities. Plays are meant to be spoken aloud rather than read in silence; novels should be felt and reconciled with knowledge of their original audiences to be absorbed; and ancient history must maintain its riveting relevancy as to not fade away before our eyes. My teaching will always be interactive and enthusiastic; my love for each subject I teach effortlessly seeps into the work I do to bounce off each student. Essays will not be dire and dreaded; they are necessary, non-pressured assessments to focus our attention in the correct direction, and to aid the students in building their confidence not only in the subject area, but in the capability of their writing technique. After each essay, I will host a feedback workshop and dedicate the lesson to improvements purely in essay writing in conjunction with the requirements of the exam board, and of course, use of excellent spelling, grammar and punctuation.
I am currently reading Classical Studies at the University or Reading. At A-level I achieved an A grade in English Literature, with unconditional offers from Russell Group universities.
