About Jahanara
There are numerous reasons why I wanted to pursue a career within teaching. I have been tutoring children for the last three and a half years. I have taught children aged between 5-11, including children with learning difficulties, I specialize in Primary Education in the following subjects, Maths, English, Science and can help with other subjects if needed. I have just recently moved to London from Surrey and I am flexible with arrangements for tutoring.
The desire to make a difference in the lives of young individuals and shape them for the future is one which is very appealing to me. I obtained a passion to pursue a career in teaching from a tender age, and my entire educational experience has been shaped towards this profession. The world of learning and development has been a strong inspiration to me and has furthered my interest. Being a part of a large family, I have been fascinated with how children progress their knowledge and their ability to reason and think. With my creative skills, I was able to invent many activities and games for the children which triggered their cognitive capacities. That was the moment I realised the rewarding side of teaching and having that significant responsibility of helping and supporting the development stage of young children.
My experience as a student in school was a pleasant experience which helped to shape my desire to pursue a career in teaching. I enjoyed every aspect of the education system that I was fortunate to have experienced; this included the fun and interactive lessons through to the interactions with fellow students and the social side of school. I was an optimistic child, sceptical at times, always eager for knowledge and willing to scope all subjects in detail. I found the school setting rather enjoyable due to the comfort and relaxation it offered me. My memories of school are what I miss immensely and the desire to return as a teacher has shaped my educational and career choices to date.
For my work experience placement, my immediate choice was working with children and thus I grasped the chance to gain experience in a school. Being able to reverse my role from a student to an aspiring figure granted me such pleasure and the view from this perspective was simply ecstatic. It was a memorable experience for me and I believed it to be a life-changing moment, gaining ultimate experience and increasing my devotion to work with children. This experience also shaped my educational career as it helped me to choose a childcare course when I entered college.
Recently working in a Primary School has broadened my knowledge on the basic learning development of a child and their various responses. I also worked with children with SEN which has broadened my repertoire of skills. It taught me a great deal in how to meet the needs of a child and how to develop their level of understanding. It has also taught me to work well under challenging and stressful situations.
It is my belief that teaching holds great respect in every society and I believe that the education system is important as it creates the foundation to every career path. As such, it is a process in which I would like to play a key role in to inspire the next generation of young individuals who will play an important part in our society.
