About Josie
I am a motivated student studying natural sciences at Durham University. I wish to pass on my knowledge and enthusiasm for a broad range of scientific areas to younger students, who perhaps feel stuck or bored with their current educational situation. Having sat my own GCSE and A-level exams not too long ago, I remember how intense and daunting both revision and exams were. I look forward to helping students overcome this and achieve the best results possible.

I don’t believe in lengthy textbooks and PowerPoint slides. Instead, learning is most effective when active and engaging. Especially when learning science, it is important to fully grasp the concepts, which involves being able to break it down into smaller, more digestible ideas through fun and varied activities. Active recall is the best-studied method to retain information and convert knowledge into mark-winning answers, so I will always include an element of this towards the end of lessons. Overall, I aim to keep things challenging but interesting to boost confidence and ensure that instead of dreading the lessons, they are something to look forward to.
