Learning is doing, so I engage my students in hands-on lessons where they are fully engaged in what the task at hand is, thus building skills that students can use over and over again whatever the subject matter is. Students and I also develop a mutual respect for one another through positive reinforcement on my part. No task is impossible for my students when working with me!
