I graduated from the University of Plymouth in 2019, with a 1st in BSc (Honours) Environmental Science and a Merit in MSc Marine Renewable Energy.
I tutor in my degree subjects (at any level), and in Geography and Geology at GCSE and A level. I am currently available to tutor online.
My lesson structure tends to be straightforward: identifying what needs to be covered, working through course material required, explaining anything that needs explaining and going through questions on the topic to check understanding.
I have helped other students on my university courses, both informally and through Peer Assisted Learning With Plymouth University. Informally, I helped 30 students on my BSc with aspects of coursework or revision, such as using software, putting together practice essays and learning information. All of these who were prepared to put relevant work in themselves have achieved 1sts or 2:1s in these assessments, with those that I helped most extensively achieving 1sts in end of year examinations.
My course is very broad, so I am able to teach in a number of subject areas, including aspects of geography, geology, sustainability, environmental pollution, weather and climate change.
While studying for my BSc I was on the Dean's list for exemplary academic performance. I have experience in helping other students through Student Ambassador work.
I have undertaken work experience related to my subject area with the Science and Technology Facilities Council at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, working on creating a geoengineering presentation and report. I have also volunteered in Zambia for 11 weeks, where I worked on a conservation project.
