About Olivia
I've spent over ten years teaching English as a Second Language across university classrooms, professional cohorts, and one-on-one settings, working with students and professionals from nearly every corner of the world. My experience spans undergraduate and graduate students, international faculty, and working professionals preparing for licensing exams conducted in English, from business certifications to technical fields like aviation. I'm also a certified OPI tester, so I bring an examiner's eye to test preparation and know exactly what raters are listening for. Along the way I've taught at universities in the U.S. and abroad, led pronunciation and accent coaching, and built custom curricula for students whose goals had nothing to do with English itself and everything to do with a specific exam, presentation, or career milestone standing in their way.

My teaching style starts with genuine curiosity about each student as a person, not just as a learner. I want to understand what you're actually trying to say, then help you find the clearest way to say it, whether that means adjusting a sound, reframing a sentence, or building confidence for a high-pressure moment. Because so many of my students are working professionals, I focus on language that serves their actual careers: the vocabulary of their field, the tone their industry expects, the phrasing that helps them sound credible in a meeting or interview. I also believe small changes often make the biggest difference. A single sound, a stress pattern, or a word choice can be the difference between being understood immediately and being asked to repeat yourself, so I zero in on those precise adjustments rather than overwhelming students with everything at once. I move at the pace each student needs, patiently working through mistakes without judgment, and I pay close attention to the specific gaps between what a student already knows and what they're ready to learn next. Above all, my goal in every session is to help you feel comfortable enough to open up, take risks, and speak freely, because that's where real progress happens.
