About Nelia
I am a Portuguese language teacher based in Portugal with a strong academic background in languages and Portuguese as a foreign language. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Translation (Portuguese and English) from Kyiv National Linguistic University and a Master’s degree in Portuguese as a Non-Native Language from a university in Portugal.
I have been teaching Portuguese to adult learners since 2019, working exclusively with individual students from different backgrounds. Over the years, I have gained extensive experience helping learners develop their Portuguese in a practical and personalized way.
Living in Portugal allows me to bring not only academic knowledge to my lessons, but also a genuine understanding of European Portuguese and Portuguese culture. I am passionate about languages, communication, and helping my students feel confident using Portuguese in real-life situations.

My lessons are designed around you, your goals, and your individual needs. I work exclusively with adults and specialize in Portuguese as a foreign language. I pay close attention to the difficulties each student faces and adapt my lessons accordingly. Together, we focus on the areas that need the most attention — whether that is speaking, pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, or everyday communication.
I believe that learning a language should be practical, engaging, and comfortable. My approach combines clear explanations with plenty of conversation and real-life examples, helping you not only understand Portuguese but actually use it with confidence.
