Hi, I'm Natalia! I offer Portuguese classes, designed for students looking to develop their conversation and vocabulary skills, either for travelling to one of the ten Portuguese speaking countries around the world, and engage in informal conversations up to more formal situations such as negotiating a new house or a business venture in Portuguese.
I am a Portuguese student enrolled in a Criminology course, I am looking forward to teach everyone who needs to learn the Portuguese language, Criminology or other subjects as Basketball etc.. My lessons and methods will depend on the student's needs.
For me, the best way to learn is "playing", I mean, in a relaxed way, playing some games, doing some exercises, activities, projects, listening and translating music, without any pressure. I will have some materials ready for each lesson - different things and nothing heavy. Lessons need to be enjoyable if students are to learn quickly.
My method Generally, my lessons cover the four language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Nonetheless, I favour the communicative approach and I focus a lot on developing my students' speaking and listening skills. Grammar is taught in context, allowing learners to see how grammar rules can be used in speech.
My teaching method is based on discussion, and how I can help my students become more confident in speaking English/Portuguese. Usually I try to use as little books as possible, because I believe too many books confuse students who are trying to learn languages. I usually plan my lessons before hand, and organise them related to day to day teaching.
When it comes to teaching, I start with a bare-bones approach, covering the basics of grammar, syntax, vocabulary and oral expression, so that students can get comfortably with the lessons gained and learned, before moving on to a more advanced level, in line with what is currently taught at the standard AS/A-Level in secondary schools.
I am a 24 year old Portuguese recent graduate, from the University of Salford (2:1). I have had French education all my life and achieved a score of 15/20 in the French Baccalaureate. In addition to that I have a foreign language diploma in Spanish (DELE) and the IELTS, and can help with preparation for those exams.
I can give lessons to people that have just started to learn Portuguese or that already have some knowledge of the language. Videos, apps and easy graphics are my preferable method of teaching. I'm a perfectionist and like to end everything I start, so I'll not rest until your goals have been achieved.
Presentations and summarising tasks along with essays and for portuguese, verbal/speaking lessons.
The person seeking these lessons can choose a theme and we will have a chat about it, meanwhile I'll give pointers on correct pronunciation, grammar and expressions. Since I'm not actually a teacher this will help you feel comfortable in speaking and interacting.
I taught children in the past but I am open to teaching anyone of any age who has an interest in Portuguese and is wanting to improve. I ensure my lessons are interactive and dynamic instead of just throwing a load of information at my student. I believe that in allowing the student to take control of their learning and supporting as well as encouraging them to push themselves to improve.
My lessons will include introduction to portuguese so that my students can receive a first feel of the language and as we develop will be more intentive. My teaching methods revolve around attention to detail and persistence. After each lesson a work sheet will be provided. I believe we learn by practising.
My focus is on making it work for you, leveraging on your existing skills, interests and motivations. Adapting the most recent research and tools to your learning preferences, so you don’t waste your time, money or energy. Fun, challenging, purposeful activities will get you engaged and happy about your progress.
I am a very patient person so don't worry, you can get there! I base my classes on Live Chats; PowerPoint presentations; games; learning support via e-mail; online class discussions; simulations; if required, classes in person by the end of each level; others. I adapt the methods to the individual needs of each student.
I always focus on what students already know and on their main difficulties. I can use books, videos or anything, according to preferences. Sometimes students feel sad because they don't understand something or they think they have doubts they shoudn't have.
I was born and raised in Portugal and I´m now in Bristol taking my Bsc in Biology. I teach Portuguese and I tend to shape my lessons accordingly to the student I have since every one of them is a different person and should be treated as such so that they can fully explore their potential in my lessons and in life.
Learning should always be fun. The teacher must find a way to get the students interested in what is being taught. Creating a connection between their interests and the lessons is key. Finding something that makes the lesson relevant to them.
On our first meeting I will access if you have any basic knowledge of the language. I'll also try to understand your goals and reason to want to learn. Communication with your other half's family... work... travelling...plain curiosity... I'll ask what your interests are and establish if there's a time deadline to have into consideration.
I believe in a open, friendly environment where students get the chance to share their views on the subject without being afraid of making mistakes. Only from mistakes can one develop its skills. Visual Images to grab students attention and bring a good dynamic to the studying process are a way to memorize and understand the concepts better.
I provide comprehensive and adaptive tutoring as well as exercises. I have extensive experience with teaching as I taught some courses for Red Cross. I am a student at Middlesex University, studying Biomedical Engineering (BEng), from September 2017 to July 2020.
I´m a Portuguese student living in Uxbridge, London and I'm currently studying law in Brunel London University. I love conversing and sharing my experiences and knowledge, I'm a very laid back and fun person.
I've found that children react very well when we use songs, pictures and games. Even teens and adults, it's easier for them when we use those kinds of techniques. The secret is to adjust the kind of music, images and games according to the student's age and learning ability. I believe learning should be done with the things we love the most.
I base my classes on the level of my students. This way I can teach the basics of the language or if the student is at an advanced level, my lessons components are more complex. I teach students of all ages. My lessons are shaped to my students and their reasons for learning the language.
I believe the best way to learn a language is to engage in conversations with a native speaker. After assessing your level you can start discussing some topics and slowly introducing grammar rules.
My teaching method is based on learning by doing - I want to help you construct a fluency level adequate to your learning goals - whether is traveling, working or just for fun. My specializations are in European and African Portuguese. I also teach Business Portuguese language and culture.
I give lessons to anybody who wants to either learn or improve their Portuguese. My classes adapt themselves to each student, I first evaluate their level in Portuguese and then make a class plan specifically for them. My lessons also have a cultural side to them, I believe that for someone to understand a language grammar and vocabulary are essencial but not the only ones.
Each student is different and therefore my teaching method changes with every student I get to teach. My lessons are no less than half an hour and can be up to two hours. I'm very patient and can offer all type of help. I can also teach Portuguese grammar, Portugal's history and Portuguese literature.
I am a criative person. My methology is based in what you are interested to learn. We can use audio, videos, books, magazines, anything according to your preference.
Sometimes i used to help my little sister studying English. Explaining the things to her, making some exercises, trying to figured out which subject she had more problems with. Using methods i learned in my classes back in Portugal.
Lecture method, a lesson with oral presentations of information by the instructor. The discussion method, which will involve a two-way communication between students. Demonstration lessons. Brainstorming.
