About ASHIS
I am a graduate from University of Kolkata. I studied from St Xavier's College Kolkata with Physics Honours 1983-86
I am a practicing artist; worked almost in all media. And made my exhibitions - solo as well as group, in most of the major Galleries of the country viz. Lalit Kala Academy (New Delhi) , Academy of Fine Arts (Kolkata), Jahangir Art Gallery ( Mumbai) and travelled four countries abroad with my works: UK, Bangladesh, Thailand, Russia. My next look out are for Germany, Japan and France.

My teaching method is direct: I work and then deliberate , so that things become more easy for learners to follow. First the materials required is gathered together. Then the subject is decided be it a : painting or still life or portrait/graphics Then the drawing and composition framed. Lastly work with students together and give them a small hand-out for home work! etc

If the number of students go beyond 8. Fees will increase. I will provide materials for my paid classes. only the students to bring their boards clips and brushes pencils. Colour and Supports will be mine. For free classes students are to bring all materials required-as per the instructions
