About Hfsa
I just finished sixth form, having studied A2 Biology, chemistry and English language-literature and I achieved A (highest possible) in AS Mathematics. I’ve attended an Excellent rated (OFSTED) Grammar school since the start of my secondary education and progressed to their Sixth Form on a scholarship.
I have taken entrance exams and interviews for many different grammar or academically selective schools in the area, including Altrincham Girls, Manchester High and Withington Girls, so I am very familiar with process and the skills required to progress onto the next stages and ultimately gain a place.
I offer 11+ exam prep as well as tips on interview practice having been through the process myself. I have also coached students in the past; majority of them have been accepted into grammar schools and all of them had seen an increase not only in their academic abilities but also in their confidence levels.
I currently tutor a GCSE chemistry student and have experience teaching Year 5 and 6 maths as well as other GCSEs such as chemistry, biology, chemistry, physics and English lang and lit!

I aim to build a students confidence and improve their ability by explaining the concept and method, making sure they understand, and to further consolidate their understanding or to test them, I give them past paper questions to practice.
After all, practice makes perfect!
I give students advice on dealing with exam stress, time management and which exam techniques are useful for which exam. I have also found that discussing a students answer and comparing their answer to the mark scheme is very beneficial, hence why some lessons may be more discussion based and focused on understanding as opposed to just practice.
The students will also receive additional work to complete before the next session, as this prepares them for the independent studying they will be expected to do in the future.
Additional work may include practice questions or may involve them (for English) to read a book and rewrite a certain scene from another characters perspective.
11+ exam prep may be difficult, but it is only difficult if you let it be.

Hfsa is an excellent teacher. She helped my son recap his year 12 bio content in time for his mocks and he went from a B-to an A and an A*! I saw my son go from hating biology and very reluctant to begin tutoring to eagerly completing his homework on time, and she helped him develop a genuine love for biology. She’ also helped him with his future career pathway - he’s planning on going into either medicine or genetics.
