About Liz
With a background as a professional proofreader, and an HC in English Literature from De Montfort University, I provide support and guidance for students of any level. Whether helping a child to discover the joy of reading, studying Shakespeare, or scrutinising an academic essay, I am happy to help each pupil to achieve their goals.
My particular passion is creative writing, including song lyrics and poetry. Samples of my written work are available on request.

No teaching method is "one-size-fits-all." Therefore, I will always assess the level and objectives of every student, and compose a plan accordingly. My aim will be to encourage you to be as excited as I am about studying English. Perhaps we can achieve this by writing about your hobbies, or pointing out all of the dirty jokes in Romeo and Juliet. Perhaps it would be better for your learning style to create a bullet-pointed task list, with clear and manageable targets. Maybe your forte is reading aloud, and injecting a little drama into proceedings.
There is no right way to learn - there is only the right way for you. English is an incredibly idiosyncratic language. It is also exquisitely expressive, painfully poignant, and superbly succinct. I hope that you will learn to love it in my lessons.
