About Yunia
I am a certified educator with several years of experience teaching both elementary and middle school students. I have taught 5th grade math, science, and social studies as well as middle school science for grades 6–8. Through my classroom experience, I have developed a strong ability to break down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps that help students truly understand the material.
My teaching approach focuses on patience, encouragement, and building confidence in students. I believe that every student can succeed when they are given the right support and learning strategies. I work closely with students to identify where they may be struggling and then guide them through the material using structured explanations, practice problems, and real-world examples.
As a professional educator, I maintain high standards for organization, communication, and preparation in every lesson. I create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing their academic skills at their own pace.

My approach as a tutor is student-centered, supportive, and focused on building both understanding and confidence. I believe students learn best when complex ideas are broken down into clear steps and connected to real-life examples. I focus on identifying each student’s learning style and adapting my teaching methods to meet their needs.
During lessons, I use guided practice, questioning techniques, and visual explanations to help students understand concepts rather than simply memorize procedures. I encourage students to explain their thinking so I can identify gaps in understanding and provide targeted support.
A typical lesson begins with a brief review of previous material or homework to assess understanding. Next, I introduce the new concept using clear explanations and examples. Students then practice the skill with guided problems before moving to independent practice. At the end of the session, we review key ideas and discuss strategies the student can use when solving similar problems in the future.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my experience as a classroom teacher and my ability to break down challenging math and science concepts into simple, manageable steps. I am patient, encouraging, and focused on helping students develop both problem-solving skills and academic confidence.
