About Neeki
I am an experienced educator with a PGCE and MSc in Sustainability and Environmental Education who champions context-based interdisciplinary learning. Having over 6 years of experience teaching students from 7-18 in both private, alternative and state schools, tutoring a wide range of ages and backgrounds with successful results.
I believe in giving real-world relevance to everything I teach to make learning interesting and fun. Many of my students not only improve their progress and grades but often say that they enjoy the topics more because they no longer have to ask 'what's the point?'.
Having had experience teaching mainstream pupils with and without additional educational needs and homeschooled students during the school holidays, I can be very flexible with my teaching and adapt to what my students need.

I generally like to introduce real-world examples or 'how the world works' questions to make the theory covered afterwards more relevant and interesting.
Once the theory is clear and we have successfully applied it, we might practice some worked examples or we can dig deeper into the topic and begin to stretch and challenge our understanding through discussion, drawings, or exam-style questions.
Another approach I have used with students with more flexibility in their curriculum has been designing STEM lessons and projects around a particular topic of interest, anything from food, to space, to boats/racecars. From there I can guide students into delving deeper into their passions while meeting a broad range of curriculum standards in the STEM subjects.
