About Lydia
I’m a Columbia University graduate passionate about language, communication, and helping others grow. I enjoy reading and exploring cross-cultural ideas that connect people across backgrounds. With a background in international affairs and real-world experience working across cultures, I bring both structure and empathy to my teaching. I believe that language learning is not just about grammar, but about building confidence and discovering new ways to express yourself.

I teach Mandarin to adult learners of all levels through personalized, structured lessons that build confidence and focus on real-life communication—whether for travel, career, or cultural connection.
I create an immersive and enjoyable classroom experience by combining real-life scenario practice, vocabulary building, pronunciation training, and cultural insights.
My goal is to make each lesson interactive, engaging, and tailored to help learners feel confident and connected as they explore the Mandarin language and culture.
I specialize in helping:
• Professionals using Mandarin for work
• Adults learning for travel or personal growth
• Heritage speakers reconnecting with the language
